The short version: we collect what you send us to answer you and deliver your project, payments go through Stripe, and analytics, Microsoft Clarity and Meta's advertising pixel only run if you agree.
1. Who we are
DFY Games (Done For You Games) operates dfygames.com. For anything about your data, email hello@dfygames.com.
2. What we collect
Information you send us. When you use the checkout, the kickoff brief, the functional-app questionnaire or a call request, we receive what you enter: typically your name, email, company, timezone, your answers about the game or app, and any links you share. We also record which consent statements you agreed to, and when.
The game idea quiz. To unlock your result, the quiz asks for your email. We receive that email together with your answers and the result we showed you (the game niche, app name and recommended package). We use them to show you your result, to follow up about it, and to send you game-building tips now and then. You can unsubscribe anytime, from any of those emails or by writing to hello@dfygames.com.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe in its secure checkout window. Card details go directly to Stripe and never reach our servers. Stripe shares with us the order details we need: your name, email, billing country, any tax ID you provide, the package and the payment status.
WhatsApp project chat. After you buy, the game brief asks for your WhatsApp number so we can run your project chat there. We store it with your brief and use it only for your project. Messages on WhatsApp are carried by WhatsApp (Meta) under its own terms and privacy policy. While you fill in the brief, your answers are saved on your device (local storage) and cleared when you send it. Prefer email? Write to hello@dfygames.com and we'll run your project by email instead.
Website analytics. The site counts visits for everyone, without cookies and without storing anything on your device. Each page view and step such as “package selected” or “checkout started” is sent to our own server with the page, how you arrived (the referring site and any campaign tags in the link, such as an ad name), your device type and your country. Visits are grouped with a code made from your IP address, browser and the date, which changes every day and cannot be turned back into your IP address; the IP address itself is never stored. This is not used to identify you. If you accept analytics in the cookie banner, a random visit id kept in your browser tab links your pages into one visit, and the site also runs Microsoft Clarity, which records how pages are used (clicks, taps, scrolling and mouse movement, with typed text and form fields hidden) so we can watch session replays and heatmaps and fix what confuses people. Clarity uses its own cookies (such as _clck and _clsk) and processes this data for us under Microsoft's privacy statement.
Ad measurement (Meta Pixel) — only if you agree. If you turn on advertising in the cookie banner, the site loads Meta's pixel, which tells Meta (Facebook and Instagram) that you visited and which pages you viewed, along with technical data such as your IP address, browser and Meta's own cookies. We use it to measure which of our ads bring visitors and to show our ads to people likely to be interested. Meta processes this data under its own privacy policy. If you leave advertising off, the pixel never loads and nothing is sent to Meta. When you check out or request a quote with advertising turned on, we also send that step to Meta from our server (Meta's Conversions API), with your email address and name in hashed (scrambled) form, so Meta can match it to the ad you saw.
Technical data. Our hosting provider processes IP addresses and request details to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. We store the visitor's country (derived by the host) with form submissions, not the IP address.
3. Cookies and device storage
Analytics and advertising cookies are set only if you turn them on: Microsoft Clarity (analytics) sets cookies such as _clck and _clsk, and Meta's pixel (advertising) sets cookies such as _fbp. Otherwise the site stores only this on your device:
- Your consent choice (local storage, key
dfy-consent-v2) — so we don't ask again. - Your questionnaire draft (local storage, key
dfy-apps-quote-v1) — so you can save and return. It stays on your device and is removed when you submit or start over. - A purchase marker (session storage) — so a completed purchase is counted once.
- Your test group (local storage, key
dfy-cta-test-v1) — we compare two versions of our contact buttons, and this keeps you on the same one. It holds only the word "whatsapp" or "call".
Stripe sets its own cookies inside the payment window to prevent fraud.
If you open our booking calendar, it is provided by Calendly, which sets its own cookies inside the calendar window. A WhatsApp chat link opens WhatsApp, which handles your message under its own privacy policy.
4. Why we use it
- To reply to you, prepare a blueprint, scope or quote, and deliver what you bought (contract).
- To take payment and keep accounting and tax records (legal obligation).
- To protect the site and forms from spam and abuse (legitimate interest).
- To understand which parts of the site help people decide — only with your consent.
- To measure and improve our ads on Facebook and Instagram — only with your consent.
6. How long we keep it
- Leads that don't become projects: up to 24 months after our last contact.
- Customer and order records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Analytics events: up to 24 months, in aggregated or non-identifying form.
- If our delivery service is temporarily unavailable, a submission may be kept briefly in our hosting provider's logs until it is processed.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent at any time — email hello@dfygames.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
8. Children
This website is for businesses and adults commissioning games. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect children's data through it.
9. Changes
We'll update this page when our practices change, and show the date at the top.
